ABOUT
CLARISSA TOMLINSON
As the daughter of parents who participated in basketball at national and international levels, I learned about basketball, conditioning, health and competing at elite athletic levels from a young age.
Being actively engaged in Basketball Development & Strength and conditioning activities taught me about physical and mental fitness and how important that was for succeeding at the highest level.
My entry into competitive basketball was solidified when offered a basketball scholarship to attend The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, USA and compete in the U.S. High School Basketball league. I progressed through the basketball ranks when I competed at Samford University, Alabama, USA in Div. 1 while studying for my Bachelor of Arts (Sociology).
After completing my degree, I played pro and semi-pro basketball for 3 years and was invited onto the Div.1 coaching team as an Assistant Coach at Samford University. I was promoted from 3rd Assistant to 2nd Assistant Coach within 3 years and formed part of the coaching team who achieved three out of the four highest single season win totals in the basketball program’s history.
In the past few years, I’ve assisted people from diverse cultures and ages achieve health and fitness through my Personal Training and Health & Wellness Business which provides tailored personal training, nutrition guidance and overall wellbeing coaching. I also run weekly and holiday basketball programs and conditioning sessions for aspiring basketball players between the ages of 7 and 18 via the Cee Tomlinson Basketball Academy which I founded in 2015.
Some key achievements in my sporting career include:
• Played under my father, Ray Tomlinson’s WNBL Melbourne Tigers team in 1995 and from 2000 to 2001.
• Was Head of the Middle School to High School Basketball Program
at the School of Excellence in San Antonio, Texas from 2008 to 2009.
